Nottinghamshire Deaf Wellbeing Action Group
Campaign for Deaf People to have Equal Access to Health Services
We are a group of people living in Nottinghamshire campaigning for equal access to health and social services for Deaf people.
We are working towards the following aims:
- To ensure Deaf people have equal access to all Health and Social Care services
- For information from Health and Social Care services to be accessible in British Sign Language
- To promote better understanding of Health issues within the Deaf community
- To hold regular consultations with the Deaf community and to feedback to health and social care providers.
We try to meet regularly to discuss how we can make progress in each of these areas and to plan our projects and engagement events.
We are all volunteers. We have a committee, a constitution, and a bank account. Our committee members are voted onto the committee by the Deaf community in Nottinghamshire.
